History: Jason Street is the only child of Joanne and Mitchell Street. He's the light of their life and just like his father, all he wanted to play was football. The only difference was that unlike his father (who runs the small town of Dillon's pharmacy) Jason had not only the drive and the passion but the talent.

Coached by the same man for all 13 years of his football career, Jason was primed and ready to be the freshman Quarterback starter at Notre Dame University. He was headed up the weekend of his first senior year game to sign the papers. But that never happened.

During the first game of Jason's senior year, he tackled another player, forgetting the age old rule of never tackling with his head down. His neck snapped and his spine severed in at the C7-T1 juncture, rendering his a Quadriplegic and ending his football career.

It also ruined Jason's plans with Tim to build their own Texas ranch with Jason's NFL money and even more importantly, began the downward spiral of his relationship with his high school sweetheart, Lyla Garrity.

During his stay in the hospital, Tim and Lyla found solace with each other and it crushed Jason to be betrayed by both his girlfriend and his best friend. He began to act out, unable to cope with the loss of his legs and his future.

It wasn't all bad though. He gained a new sport----Murderball and some new friends, one of whom included one Suzy Q. She gave Jason a tattoo, the Sanskrit word for peace and Jason started to fall for her, despite also getting engaged with Lyla.

He tried out for the National Murderball team and when he didn't make it, got a ride back from Suzy and ended up kissing her.

Meanwhile, back at home, Jason's parents had decided to sue the school to try and regain some of their financial losses having to reformat their entire house. This included suing his old coach which Jason became very torn up over.

The settlement ended quickly, with a settlement with the school board and Jason's old coach offered him a coaching position. Jason began as Assistant Quarterback coach, coaching his replacement, Matt Saracen and helped his team win State.

He continued in his position as his old coach left and a new coach, who he clashed with took the head coach reigns. Eventually Jason quit, unable to deal with being thought of as the "mascot" by the new coach and possibly the town.

As well, Jason had heard of a new experimental treatment down south of the border in Mexico that used Shark stem cells to re-habilitate him and allow him to walk again. He and Tim headed down to Mexico and were already to do the surgery, no matter how risky until Tim got cold feet and called Lyla to help him talk Jason out of it. They did, and Jason returned to Dillon, ready to move on completely with his life and start anew.

Starting with his dating life, Jason decided to try an online dating site and ended up on a disastrous date---which ended in an entirely separate disaster of it's own.

The waitress that had saved Jason from his piss loving date had a one night stand with him and ended up pregnant. Meanwhile, Jason had begun, completely unaware of what was happening, a steady job, working at Lyla's father's dealership. When he found out that Erin the waitress was pregnant, he begged her to keep it, as it may have been his only chance at being a father, and promised that he'd stay by her side the entire way.

9 months later, Noah was born and Jason felt for the first time since his accident that his life had purpose. Erin felt differently and allowed Jason to have full custody if she could have limited visitation. Jason knew he'd made this choice and knew that he had to step up as a parent. He applied to several colleges, Kansas State being his first choice for their multiple programs of choice and signed over 3rd party guardianship to his parents, ready to get a degree and take care of his child.
